Artist's CommentsMy entry for FunkOut o8. See my first screenshot for ingredients. This is my "dirty" shot, I am using Gnome as my desktop environment with metacity as the window manager. The conky monitor on the left shows the current hour/date, how many new e-mails I have on my mailbox, the current weather in my city, a lot of interesting things about my system like the cpu load, how much memory I am using, how many packages can be updated, the net monitor shows the current traffic and the net load  the last monitor shows my Disks, and how much space I've got left on them. My bottom panel features a menu, where I can launch my installed application, access faster file-systems and folders on my hdd and changing the system settings. I am using mpd + sonata to listen to my favourite trance music, epiphany for browsing my favourite anime web-sites, and of course smplayer to watch my favourite animes GPicView is a great light-weight and functional application for image viewing, and nautilus just offers a bunch of options for file-browsing. The terminal updates my abs tree, the arch linux build system, so i could compile my favourite programs out of source using the makepkg tool or yaourt application. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
